Pakistan Philatelic Association (PPA), Lahore, Monthly Meeting August, 2026

Today, on 9^th August (second Sunday of the August), the monthly meeting of PPA was held at the house of the society president, Mr. Jamil Bhatti. As compared to last month, Mr. Jamil was feeling quite better, all the embers wished him a full recover, and he joined us this time to make some future decisions for PPA.

Even though there was slight drizzling outside, the stamps enthusiasts arrived on time and everything went smoothly according to the set schedule and time.

This month, the main aim of this meeting was to discuss the future plans of stamp exhibit events held by the society, a special committee was also formed for this specific purpose. The members of the committee will be:

·         Ehtisham-ul-Haq

·         Fawad Ahmad

·         Haroon Ahmad Khan

·         Muhmmad Usman

·         Musa Watto

·         Sheikh Waqas

·         Muhammad Waseem

Hopefully, the first exhibit will be held in October, and the preparations are already in action. Insha-Allah, theses exhibits will be help time to time from than onwards. During this meeting, a detailed discussion, about ways to make our society even better, was done. This discussion ended up taking most of our time, but still, an amazing auction was held in a crunch of time.  

At the end of the meeting, samosas and shaker-paras along-side chai were served to the members.

Today, on 12^th July, the monthly meeting of PPA was held at the house of Mr. Jamel Bhatti. As our host was not in the best of his health, he did not join us in the meeting, yet everything went smoothly according to the set schedule and time.

Mr. Mutahir Naqvi, who had gone for Hajj this year, distributed dates among the members as per the Islamic custom. The meeting started with a beautiful Quran recitation by Mr. M.A. Naeem. After that we got busy with our discussions and conversations. We discussed how we should get the frames used in previous exhibitions fixed, so that we can use them again in the upcoming exhibitions.

The auction started somewhere around 1:30 P.M and all the members took out their items to start selling them. But everyone’s enthusiasm was doubled when Mr. Ahmed Shahzad Bhatti walked in with his brilliant treasure of auction items.

Around 2:30 P.M we took a small break from the auction and samosas and chai were served to the members, shaker-paras were also served as dessert afterwards.

After the short tea break, we resumed with the auction and the members participated with complete interest. At the end of the meeting, al members finally got to meet Mr. Jamel Bhatti, they wished him well and prayed to Allah for the quick recovery of Mr. Jamel Bhatti’s health. 

Launch ceremony of the World's Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp and a Souvenir Sheet

PNCA - Pakistan National Council of the Art's post

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in collaboration with Pakistan Post, hosted the launch ceremony of the World's Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp and a Souvenir Sheet in honour of the legendary artist, calligrapher and poet Sadequain at the National Art Gallery, Islamabad on 30th June, 2026.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished government officials, artists, philatelists, cultural personalities, members of the media and art enthusiasts, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of Pakistan's most influential cultural icons.

Issued by Pakistan Post the commemorative stamp pays tribute to Sadequain's remarkable contributions to visual arts, calligraphy, literature and Pakistan's cultural heritage. Internationally celebrated for his monumental murals and pioneering calligraphic style, Sadequain's artistic vision continues to inspire generations.

The launch of the World's Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp marks a significant achievement in Pakistan's philatelic history, reflecting a unique blend of art, culture and innovation.

On the occasion, Pakistan Post also released a specially designed First Day Cover (FDC), a Philatelic Leaflet, and commemorative cancellation marks, offering collectors a comprehensive philatelic collection.

Speaking at the ceremony, officials highlighted the importance of honouring national cultural figures whose contributions have enriched Pakistan's artistic and intellectual heritage. The initiative reaffirms Pakistan Post's commitment to preserving and promoting the country's rich cultural legacy through philately.

Britain International School & College's visited Multan GPO

Today on 03-02-2025 students of the renowned educational institution, the Multan Britain International School & College visited Multan GPO for the educational & recreational trip.

The exhibition of commemorative stamps was arranged for their knowledge in the premises of Multan GPO. Manager EP Center Multan GPO, Senior Postmaster Multan GPO(DLY) and Stamp Collector.

 Tayyab Ehsan briefed the students about all operations and activities of Pakistan Post department. This activity proved to be very healthy and fruitful.

Pakistan Philatelic Association Lahore (PPA) Meeting for the Month of October 2024:-

On the second Sunday of October i.e. 13th of October in the afternoon, our meeting was held in Lahore. The meeting looked more like a get together than a meeting, in which around 25 to 30 friends participated.

Now, people enjoy this gathering very much and everyone's arrival continues with great enthusiasm and all the friends are engaged in heartily conversation and gossip, which makes it seem like as if no one is in a hurry to return.

This meeting of ours has turned from the traditional style to a gathering with friendly and brotherly atmosphere. All the friends talk and exchange information related to their hobbies, according to their heart’s desire. So, Alhamdulillah this time too, the atmosphere was enjoyable.

For some time, there were continuous group discussions, during which our permanent host Jameel Bhatti had arranged tea and sweet meats outside the meeting hall, so while all the friends were engaged in conversation, hot samosas and crispy jalebi were also. All the attendees also exchanged, bought and sold various items and few hours went by in this without anyone realizing.
