PNCA - Pakistan National Council of the Art's post
The Pakistan National Council of
the Arts (PNCA) in collaboration with Pakistan Post, hosted the launch ceremony
of the World's Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp and a Souvenir Sheet in
honour of the legendary artist, calligrapher and poet Sadequain at the National
Art Gallery, Islamabad on 30th June, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by
distinguished government officials, artists, philatelists, cultural
personalities, members of the media and art enthusiasts, celebrating the
enduring legacy of one of Pakistan's most influential cultural icons.
Issued by Pakistan Post the
commemorative stamp pays tribute to Sadequain's remarkable contributions to
visual arts, calligraphy, literature and Pakistan's cultural heritage.
Internationally celebrated for his monumental murals and pioneering
calligraphic style, Sadequain's artistic vision continues to inspire
generations.
The launch of the World's Longest
Commemorative Postage Stamp marks a significant achievement in Pakistan's
philatelic history, reflecting a unique blend of art, culture and innovation.
On the occasion, Pakistan Post
also released a specially designed First Day Cover (FDC), a Philatelic Leaflet,
and commemorative cancellation marks, offering collectors a comprehensive
philatelic collection.
Speaking at the ceremony,
officials highlighted the importance of honouring national cultural figures
whose contributions have enriched Pakistan's artistic and intellectual
heritage. The initiative reaffirms Pakistan Post's commitment to preserving and
promoting the country's rich cultural legacy through philately.
